North Hanwell Baptist Church are delighted with their newly created gardens. Two gardens were created by Sally, Jesse and Brett of All Gardening as part of the Park Royal Partnership Action Day that took place on 29th September 2006.

"What really struck me was Rosanna's willingness & ability to promote who we are & not herself. It's wonderful to find people of integrity like Rosanna in the business world."

"I've never done anything like this before! Rosanna 'took me by the hand' and led me (not up the garden path) but on a journey which I'll definitely be taking again. She made a daunting task both do-able and enjoyable."
Rev. Sandra Thwaites

The Rev. Sandra Thwaites of the Baptist Church was so delighted with her child and environment friendly back garden and the rainbow themed front gardens, that she decided to have an opening ceremony. In attendance were: Rev. Sandra Thwaites (of the Baptist Church), Rosanna Henderson who co-ordinated the Action Day and the opening ceremony, Becky Walsh of All Gardening, Deputy Mayor Hazel Ware - who cut the ribbons, MP for Ealing North Steve Pound who made a fantastic speech and awarded plaques to Becky and Sandra to place in the gardens to commemorate the event.

In line with the whole ethos of the Baptist Church, this was a fun, friendly and community focussed event and those community groups who joined in the fun were: Parent & Toddlers, Hanwell Neighbourly Care, Castlebar School, and of course folk from the church. Everyone held the ribbons and a huge cheer went up when it was cut and the garden declared 'officially open'.

All Gardening carried out all the work on a voluntary basis, giving time, skills, expertise, knowledge and tools for free as well as a lot of hard graft. Becky Walsh said in her speech that this was a great team building initiative as it was rare that Sally, Brett and Jesse all got to work on a project together - they got to know each other much better, had fun and created 2 gardens that will give a lot of pleasure to a lot of people and the community for years to come.

The garden taking shape

Rosanna emphasised the importance of Action Days and employee volunteering - stating that as well as the immediate benefits, it is the long term, ripple effect impact that cannot be monitored that is the real bonus. She would be keen for as many companies as possible to put a

Employee Volunteering Programme into place and would be happy to talk to companies and community groups about this.
